My gift to Marina for V-day. Usually when I try to create something for someone I love, I get stuck on the first step. I find it a challenge to sum up something as infinite as love into 1 single artistic expression. It ends up being too "epic" or "magnificent" which leads the death of inspiration, the dire fuel of all art forms.
So this time I decided to go with it. I started with a sketch and didn't erase a single line, I let it go, didn't adjust any widths of vines or petals of flowers. Then it was scanned, Filtered, Colored and Composited within Illustrator and Photoshop.
There is a secret heart shape in the picture aside from the carving on the tree. Can you find it? Tip: Sometimes the best place to hide is in plain sight.
