Currently at King's Cross

Morning / Afternoon / Evenin'

I've been struggling with this latest still on my gallery, because I couldn't get the white metal exactly the way I wanted it. I pulled one of the most frustrating feelings for an artist when something doesn't quite "feel right" and one just keeps tweaking it and tweaking it at the cost of inspiration. It's a pain in the arse when a good idea crumbles, but I found a good spot to call it quits on this one for now.
OH! I completely forgot to mention that this is a scene from the last book of Harry Potter, "Kings Cross Station" where Harry finds himself outside of time and death in what we might label as "purgatory". I really liked the idea of a timeless space where anything you want will (metaphysically?) appear.

My latest images are always on the far right.

Also, please comment on my Deviant Art Page, as it is cold and lonely.

Gallery Page Up!

The gallery is up and running! Yay!

So far I only have (2) pieces of work up, but there will be more every day. Thank you guys for the positive feedback on my reel, especially those who are not family (Eleanor Kicks Ass). Also, thank you to RB, for without her expertise .css and .html "1337" skillzz it wouldn't be up at all.

Reel Edit 2008-2009

A newly edited version of my reel is now up and functional. However, there is still much, much more to implement. I like to consider reels as infinitely unfinished because there is almost always "work" not yet ready to be presented. My next reel (2009 only) will not have any school projects.

The Gallery page will be up within the next few days, so stay tuned!

Current Project Revamp

Here is a screenshot of my old Current project I did in school for Current.tv. This was a revamp of another project, but for my new reel, I'll be hooking this one up with actual 3D clips I make from Cinema 4D.

Right now it is almost all 2D layers in After Effects, but I feel like it could use a little more depth. There's something "timeless" with simple animations though, and I'm going to make sure I don't turn a balanced project into an "epic" project.

I think in order to claim motion graphics as a successful hobby, one has to start small and let the project grow on it's own, rather than plan big and let it fizzle out before it gets a chance.

Site Launch!

Tonight my long awaited Blog site has been launched. The purpose of this site is to provide updates for everyone on my current work. Each project I will be posting one picture along with a small description as to what you are seeing. Sometimes it will be weekly, others monthly. Keep an eye out for surprises and hidden links.

• This is my forever permanent site address.
• Ataraxian is my motion graphic design alias. It derives from the word "ataraxia".
